Access Frequency Planning

Strategic placement based on how often you use items - reduce search time by 60%

The Ergonomic Approach to Pantry Organization

Access Frequency Planning is based on a simple principle: the items you use most should be the easiest to reach. Despite this obvious truth, most pantries are organized randomly, forcing you to dig, reach, and bend unnecessarily multiple times every day.

Our system analyzes your typical grocery usage patterns and creates a strategic placement plan that positions items based on frequency. Daily staples go at eye level, weekly items within easy reach, and occasional items in less accessible zones. The result is a pantry that works with your natural movements, not against them.

The Four Frequency Zones

We divide every pantry into four distinct zones based on accessibility and frequency of use. Each zone has specific organizational strategies optimized for its purpose.

Daily Zone

Location: Eye level (4-5.5 feet height)

Items you use every day or multiple times per week belong here. This prime real estate should be reserved for your most frequently accessed items.

Examples: Coffee, tea, breakfast cereals, cooking oils, frequently used spices, daily vitamins
📅

Weekly Zone

Location: Upper shelves & lower middle (3-4 feet & 5.5-6.5 feet)

Items you reach for once or twice a week. Still accessible, but not taking up prime daily-use space.

Examples: Baking supplies, pasta, rice, canned goods, snacks, specialty sauces
📆

Monthly Zone

Location: Top shelves & lower shelves (below 3 feet & above 6.5 feet)

Items used occasionally throughout the month. These areas require more effort to access but that's acceptable given infrequent use.

Examples: Bulk purchases, backup supplies, seasonal items, special occasion ingredients
🗓️

Rare Zone

Location: Very top & very bottom, back corners

Items used a few times per year or kept "just in case." The least accessible areas of your pantry.

Examples: Holiday baking supplies, preserved foods, specialty equipment, long-term storage

Implementation Process

Step 1: Usage Tracking
We help you track which items you actually use over a typical week. This data-driven approach eliminates guesswork about what belongs in your daily zone.

Step 2: Zone Assignment
Every item in your pantry gets assigned to a frequency zone. We consider both usage frequency and accessibility requirements (heavy items stay low, light items can go high).

Step 3: Strategic Placement
Items are relocated to their designated zones. We use visual markers to help maintain the system long-term.

Step 4: Adjustment Period
After two weeks of use, we reassess. Life changes, and your pantry organization should adapt accordingly.
